Other Federal Ministries

In contrast to the research funded by the BMBF, other federal ministeries support health research in areas where scientific knowledge is required for the preparation of political and administrative decisions. This so-called departmental research is always directly related to the activity fields of a ministry. For example, it serves for preparation of legislative projects or for evaluation of measures already taken. University or non-university institutes are commissioned with the research or it is performed by federal authorities within the field of the respective ministries.
