mitte@kompetenznetz-parkinson.deThe idiopathic Parkinson Syndrome is one of the most frequent basal ganglia disorders. The existing expert knowledge about this disease and its therapy is disperse and hardly available for general practitioners. The Competence Network "Parkinson’s Disease" aims to bundle this expert knowledge and make it more transparent. The goals of the network are: improved care of patients, an optimized coordination of research, linkage of research and care including a fast knowledge transfer from research to practice and vice versa, education and training employing new media, a forum for diagnosis and therapy guidelines and public relations, development of decentralized data banks of the research foci showing methodology and results, development of central databases for patient data, for cost and care research using uniform, standardized documentation, development of tissue collections (DNA bank, brain bank).
The Competence Network Parkinson is part of the funding measure "
Competence Networks in Medicine".
